With a restaurant on every corner, good dining in Madrid may turn out to be a challenge. And social media doesn’t quite come to help when you have to screen some 3000 places on Foursquare to start with. I narrowed down the choice for first-time Madrid visitors to these three to-die-for restaurants.

1. Taberna Txakolina

Nothing better than some ‘pintxos’ after a long day of sight-seeing in Madrid. Situated in the very heart of Madrid, Taberna Txakolina offers a variety that can satisfy the taste of even the most extraordinary food lovers. Accompany each bite with some Protos Crianza 2009 for a sensational experience.

2. Le Pain Quotidien

Le Pain Quotidien is an all-time favorite. Who can resist to freshly baked bread and some marvelous dips? Not me! And it happens to be situated in the most appropriate place in town – the Serrano shopping district. Just the perfect spot to sit and relax your tired feet while enjoying gorgeous meal and your latest fashion purchases. True story!

3. La Vega del Arte

Small, cozy, with bright personality and delightful personnel – La Vega del Arte is a hidden gem in Madrid’s food jungle. And it is not the pink decor that I fell for, no, no! It wasn’t even the signature burger that took my heart (although it was a feast to all my senses). It was the detail put in every meal that sold me completely. Added bonus: the full attention of the owner who was glad to lead us through the whole menu and help us make the best choice. He definitely knew what he was talking about!
