First posts are always important, they say. They set the language of the blog, the feeling, the expectations, etc…  However, the question to me is, Are first posts really so important? Are they like the first impression. 20 seconds and there you go, an opinion for a lifetime. Well, as a newbie in the blogging field (with a number of blogs behind my back that never really turned into anything more than an installed template and a test post) I decided to start this blog with a post that is related not to something that is a personal favorite, but instead share with you a recipe that is favorite to my sweetheart: chicken skewers with vegetables. A simple, yet delicious dish that takes no more than 10 mins to prepare, at least an hour to marinate, and another 20 mins to grill. The recipe is appropriate if you want to invite some last-minute guests or if you plan for an open-air barbecue with friends. As a side-dish you can always serve a nice green salad.

Ingredients:

  • 400 g chicken breast
  • 1 red pepper
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 ts olive oil
  • salt
  • pepper
  • dried oregano

Preparation:

  1. Cut the chicken breast, the pepper and the tomato in cubes and put them in a big bowl.
  2. Add the olive oil and spices according to your taste.
  3. Put the chicken bits on skewers and separate the bits with pepper or tomato pieces. Let rest in the fridge for approximately an hour.
  4. Grill for approximately 20 mins in a preheated oven at 180 C.
