I had you all wrong. You are not an intruder who breaks into my summer memories. You are not a marauder who robs me of sun rays. You are just a shy kid seeking for attention. You throw leaves on the ground so I can notice you more often. You wait for me behind the corner just to touch my face with your windy fingers. I don’t blame you. Because now I know better.
